Oman Allies

Oman and CTEK have a special relationship. When the MENA Initiative was forming, the CTEK CEO reached out to colleagues she had met in Oman some years earlier and told them of the idea. It was clear that this initiative was not one to be done from the United States but must instead be led by local organizations with CTEK in a supporting role. Heading Oman’s National Business Center at the time, CTEK Ambassador, Malak Al Shabani, spearheaded the initiative in Oman, and several Omani organizations along with CTEK created a Congress of MENA women. Two delegates from each country convened in Muscat and crafted how the program could be successful throughout the MENA. Many of the Champions and Allies emerged from that Congress. Omani Allies also hosted the first pilot program as well, where twenty women learned web skills and entrepreneurship in one week, with some students getting new clients before the course was even completed.
