CTEK’s Cordova Joins CO Governor’s Cabinet, Heading Department of Revenue
BOULDER, COLORADO — Thursday, April 18, 2019 — Lu Cordova joined the cabinet of Governor Jared Polis today as the new Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR).
“We are thrilled to have Lu join our team,” said Governor Polis. “Her vision, expertise and record of experience make her a natural fit at the Department of Revenue.”
Córdova’s background is in international finance, technology, ecommerce and investment. She was the CEO of CTEK but will now relinquish operations and move to the chairman role for CTEK, as well as for Almacen Storage Group, which provides storage and warehousing in Mexican Resorts. She also serves on the board of the Kansas City Southern Railroad (KSU) where she sits on the Audit Committee and chairs their Committee on Strategic Finance and Technology.
Formerly, Córdova was Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City after serving on its Economic Advisory Council. She was also President of the Techstars Foundation, which supports organizations helping underrepresented entrepreneurs, and was President of Colorado Venture Centers, which won international recognition and awards as one of the most distinguished business catalysts in the country. Córdova also served on the board of Euronet Worldwide (EEFT), an international payments company, on audit, governance, and compensation committees. Before that Córdova was Vice President, Strategic Planning, at McGraw-Hill Standard & Poor’s and Vice President at Excite@Home.
Córdova has started and grown several companies and has been and individual investor and a partner in both venture and private equity firms, so she is very familiar with what it takes to support systemic economic growth in Colorado. “I joined the cabinet because I believe in our Governor’s vision,” said Córdova, “Which is to focus the culture of government service to embrace technology and economic empowerment for individuals and businesses in our state.”
